  • This is a Leak Detect Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) O-ring seal and the material used can form a seal between two smooth surfaces or flanges by flowing slightly into microscopic imperfections
  • This acts as a seal when used between two surfaces in the flange and retain an internally stored force to maintain the seal when opened and closed time after time for re-use.
  • Appears as “rubbery” material when picturized
  • The EPDM materials such as Teflon adapts different shapes upon compression and retain that shape when the compressive force is removed.
